Minsk is the capital and the largest city of Belarus. It’s the 11th most populous city in Europe (with the population of about 2 million people). The city got completely destroyed during the WWII. However, following the example of Warsaw, Minsk got rebuilt and now is a very comfortable city with a lot of interesting attractions for its visitors.

Minsk is considered the safest city among the former Soviet Union countries. In comparison to many other metropolises, there are very few traffic jams and the public transport works like a Swiss watch. You probably won’t believe it, but it’s true: the public transport schedule is maintained with a possible deviation of just a couple of minutes. It is also surprising for such a big city, but Minsk is relatively quiet at night, it doesn’t have that much of nightclubs and bars.

Every young Belarusian girl knows about the legendary Dinamo stadium, which was once the field of the football tournament of the Summer Olympics-80, Minsk-Arena and Chizhovka-Arena — the venues of 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship.

There are a lot of large department stores like GUM, TSUM and the Komarovka market in Minsk. Belarusian ladies always dress tastefully and choose the appropriate outfit for every occasion.
Most of the women from Minsk love cooking. At the heart of Belarusian cuisine is the humble potato or “bulba”in Belarusian. There are over 250 recipes for potatoes alone, which show much this starch is loved by the hearty-food-loving locals. “Draniki” (potato pancakes) is one of the most popular, but there are several other favorites.
There are a lot of nature-lovers women living in this city. Minsk is considered one of the greenest cities of Belarus, with over 900,000 trees. In addition to great number of parks, here is the third largest botanical garden in the world (after London and Madrid).
